Beginner “No Hoop Red work”* 
Tuesday, May 18~10:30-1:00 or Evening 6:00-8:30 

This is a great opportunity to learn red work. I have a special technique that makes it enjoyable and easy. You will learn everything you need to complete this project on your own, including how to transfer the design, basic stitches and piecing methods. Best of all, No hoop! The fee includes the kit so you will have everything you need to begin.

Sit n’ Sew**

Take this opportunity to work on past projects or get ready for the holidays!! Cathy will help you with any problems that come up. You will make some progress and meet new quilting friends too!!

Machine Applique**
(Beginner) Saturday, August 7~10:30-3:30

This class is a must! You will learn how to fuse down appliqué pieces and use your machine to appliqué them down. You will experiment with several stitches and different threads. You will look at appliqué in a whole new way!!

Quilting Jams!!!***
Saturday, June 12 or August 14~2:00-11:00pm 

Yes, that’s right 11:00 PM!! Imagine sewing for 9 hours straight! This is a great social event to meet new quilting friends and have an evening just for you. You can also bring hand projects as well, (knitting, cross stitch or rug hooking). This class fills up quick, I think because dinner is included (no cooking!!)

Table runner of the Season (Beginner)
Thursday, May 13 & August 19~Morn. 10:30-1:30 or Evenings 6:00-9:00. 

We will be working from the book “Runners, Etc.”
Join all 4 classes to have a runner for each season or join one or two classes. Either way you will have a blast learning new piecing and finishing techniques. The May class will be a Summer runner and the August class will be a Fall runner.
Then next session of classes will have two more dates for the last two runners (Winter & Spring). These make great gifts!!

Yellow Brick Road (Beginner)
Tuesday, June 8 ~6:00-9:00

This an oldie but goodie! Learn how to cut from several fat quarters to create a fun and easy to piece quilt. You can choose from baby, lap, twin, queen or king size!! The entire quilt is made from fat quarters. (Borders optional). All cutting will be done in class. Don’t miss out!!

Hand Work Gathering**
Tuesday Mornings 10:30-1:30, May 25, June 29, August 31, or Wednesday Evenings 6:00-9:00, May 26, June 30, September 1. 

This is a wonderful opportunity to work on your hand projects and receive any help you may need! Bring red work, rug punching, binding, and more. Cathy will show new hand work techniques too!! Come, relax and get away from it all!! Don’t miss out!!

Beginner Wool~Pumpkin Patch
Saturday, July 10~10:30-3:30
 
Have you always wondered how those beautiful penny rugs are put together?? Well, this class will cover all the basics from transferring the design, layouts and the buttonhole stitch. You can frame it, quilt it or make into a pillow, ready for the fall! After this class you will feel confident to take on any wool project that you have had your eye on!!

Beginner Rug Punching **
Tuesday, July 6~10:30-1:30 or 6:00-9:00 

Have you seen the beautiful rugs in the shop! Come and learn the art of rug punching. You will be making a Chair Pad designed by Cathy Ruggiero and you will be able to choose your own yarn colors. Once you get started, there is no stopping!! Give it a try!

Sashes & Patches**(Beginner)
Tuesday, July 13~10:30-1:30 or 6:00-9:00

This is a brand new Candlelite Designs pattern. It lets you create a look that works for you! Great for beginners and experienced as well. The patches are you main fabric and you sash it with the opposite color value. This makes for lots of different looks! Give it a try in flannel, cotton or wool. The possibilities are endless! Lap size.

Christmas Tree Skirt Zig Zag Roundabout (Beginner)
Saturday, August 21~10:30-3:30 

It is that time again!! But you will be ready with this cheerful tree skirt. New by RJR, this design looks like it was more work that it was. Come and get a head start on the holidays. Tree skirts make great gifts for anyone! Couldn’t you use a new tree skirt??

Hand Embroidery for Kids!! (8 & up)**
Saturday, July 17~1:00-3:30

Kids love to do hand work. It is easy to take with them and helps with concentration skills while creating a pillow, a keepsake that they will treasure forever. They get to pick their own design! Use coloring books for simple designs or the internet. The design must fit in an 11” x 11” square. Please let Cathy see the design before class so that we can make sure it is not out of their comfort level. I will also have some designs for them to choose from.

Bead What You See on fabric & Tea Party!
Saturday, August 28 10:30-3:00
In this class you will learn how to take a piece of fabric with a flower or shape and bead it to wear as a necklace or pin while enjoying a tea party with your friends. This is so much fun and great for the summer months ahead.

Clubs & Blocks of the Months

The Farmer’s Wife Club**
Thursday, June 10, July 8, August 12~6:00-8:00 or Saturday, June 12, July 17, August 14~10:30-12:30 

Candlelite Quilts is very excited for this new exciting club!! You will learn to use templates to cut your block pieces. I will cover color, value and fussy cutting each month. You will be creating an heirloom quilt inspired by Farmer’s Wives in the 1920’s. We will also discuss the entries that these women of our past to answer a question “Would you want your daughter to be a farmer’s wife”. It is a wonderful look back almost 100 years to see what women thought about life and families. You will be cutting in class but sewing your blocks at home. We will work on two blocks per month. 
Class Fee~$20.00 per class (Registration Fee $40.00 includes book & 6 fat 1/4’s of your choice. Visit the Farmers Market in the shop & receive 10% off fat quarters for your quilt! This is a 12 month club. Instructor: Cathy Ruggiero 
  

I believe that we are all beginners and there is always something new to learn. We have tried to help you decide on the right class for you, so use the levels to help determine the best fit for your quilting skill level and get the most from your class. Thank you.

Beginner, Beginner~ You have never done any type of quilting but have a love and want to get started.
Beginner~ You started to use a rotary cutter and have done some piecing but looking for more instruction, look for beginner in the class list.
Experienced Beginner~ You have made a few quilts and feel confident in your cutting and piecing skills but want to explore other aspects of quilting
Advanced Beginner~ You have made several quilts and quilt all the time but want to learn more to challenge yourself.
